La Comarcal DelMoro Garnacha 2020

Grapes: 85% Garnacha, 15% Syrah

ABV: 13.5%

Region: Valencia, Spain

Winemaker: Javi Revert and Victor Marqués

Viniculture: Organic farming. Delmoro Tinto comes from vineyards near the village of Venta del Moro between 15 and 50 years old….

Winemaking: After a rigorous selection in the vineyard, each variety is hand-harvested separately and 70% of the grapes are destemmed and crushed, while 30% are vinified as whole bunches with stem inclusion….

Celler Frisach "Alifares" Garnatxa Gris 2020

Grapes: 100% Vernatxa Gris (Garnatxa Gris)

ABV: 13%

Region: Terra Alta, Catalonia, Spain

Winemaker: Francesc and Joan Ferré

Viniculture: Organic + Dry-farmed–Terra Alta is a dry, windy area, quite a ways inland from the coast. Growing grapes without herbicides or pesticides is a very achievable goal, and many Terra Alta producers, like Frisach, are able to execute on this

Winemaking: The grapes are hand-harvested and placed as whole clusters into the tank, lightly foot-tread, and left to ferment and age on the skins for 30 days. It’s then racked off the skins before aging.

 

Cesar Marquez Parajes Mencia 2019

Grapes: 85% Mencia, 7% Alicante Bouschet, 8% White grapes and others (Old field blend)

ABV: 13.5% 

Region: Bierzo, Castilla y León, Spain

Winemaker: César Márquez 

Viniculture: Organically farmed, low-intervention viticulture, hand-harvested

Winemaking: All plots are fermented separately with native yeasts in open barrels of 225L or 500L. Depending on the plot, from 15% to 100% whole cluster….

La Antigua Clásico Rioja Crianza

Grapes: 70% Tempranillo, 20% Graciano, 10% Garnacha

ABV: 13.5%

Region: Rioja, Spain

Winemaker: Alberto Orte

Viniculture: Sustainably grown vines planted from 1940 to 1955. Tended in sandy and limestone soil at 568 m (1,865ft) elevation

Winemaking: 24 months in stainless steel tanks plus 24 months in 60% French and 40% American oak barrels

 

Alberto Orte "Vara y Pulgar" Tintilla 2020

Grapes: 100% Tintilla

ABV: 13.5%

Region: Cádiz 

Winemaker: Alberto Orte 

Viniculture: Organic, sustainable

Winemaking: Vara y Pulgar is aged for a total of 19 months. The first 12 months in 40% oak vat and 60% concrete tank of 6,000 liters followed by additional 8 months in French oak barrels of 225 liters.

Gaintza Getariako Txakolina

Grapes: 85% Hondarrabi Zuri, 15% Gros Manseng.

ABV: 11.5% 

Region: Getaria, Basque Country

Winemaker: Lazkano family

Viniculture: Integrated Viticulture - a holistic approach to 

Winemaking: Stainless steel fermentation with wild yeasts. The slight carbonation is from the tail-end of natural fermentation, done inside the bottle to preserve bubbles.
