“This wine just wants to be drank, honestly”

We have been following Bailly-Reverdy for a long time. They’re mostly known for their Sancerre white, a blindingly intense and brilliantly grassy Sauvignon Blanc that I poured by the glass at Canlis for a long time.

The region of Sancerre isn’t known for its rosés, but I hope this wine can change people’s minds, because it’s something special.

Franck Bailly and his family make whites and rosés with crystalline purity. This Pinot Noir rosé showcases creamy texture, razor-sharp acidity, and a long finish. It’s a little more serious than many rosés on the shelf, and an extra year of bottle age helps seal it up.

Notes of fresh cranberry and wild strawberry greet the nose. On the palate there’s an abundance of red apple fruit and clotted cream. This wine just wants to be drank, honestly.

Chilled Cucumber Gazpacho

Crisp, chilled vegetable dishes are where it’s AT with rosé like this. It’s the temperature, the freshness, the vegetal flavors, everything!
