“This wine tastes like the label: pure sunshine.”

One of the crowd favorite wines in the first release was from this same winery, run by our friend, Chris Miller, another Master Sommelier and winemaker who’s doing killer work with his Adroît side project.

This is made from the Colombard grape, which is planted all over California, but has been historically used to make brandy and bulk wine, especially in the Cognac region of France where it’s from.

This wine tastes like the label: pure sunshine. I wanted you to have a refreshing summer wine. This wine has lovely citrus notes of orange peel and grapefruit. Texturally it’s super interesting, with a snappy finish and precise acidity. There’s a nice light herbal note of bay leaf and dried flower petal to keep it interesting.

Pair this with salad, charcuterie, roast or raw vegetables and any kind of light snacks.

in partnership with Simply Real Health

We’ve partnered with Sarah Adler of Simply Real Health to provide recipes for all the wines in the July box. Sarah is a cookbook author, nutritional coach, and blogger who focuses on pure, natural ingredients in her cooking. We’ve been admiring her work for a long time and were so excited to collaborate on pairings with her! We hope you enjoy these summery, fresh recipes and make them alongside the wines in the July release.

Salads

We’ve included two salad recipes to pair with this wine: both a tomato salad with feta and pistachio, and a green bean salad with cantaloupe and basil. Anything fresh works!

Further Pairings

Evidenced by the salads above, we see this wine as perfect with vegetables of any kind. It’s also a perfect aperitif, so as you’re getting your snacks and cheese and meat plates out, this is a perfect thing to try out!
