The ’09 La Storia Cabernet Sauvignon benefited from the cool growing season. Lower sugars resulted in 13.9% alcohol in the final blend and a much more balanced wine than anticipated. The wine is typical Alexander Valley Cabernet with sweet ripe cherry and blueberry on the nose, with a slight dark licorice and brown sugar nuance. The moderate oak contributes traces of vanilla, cocoa powder and toast. The mouth feel is fresh, juicy and balanced with obvious but soft tannins. The finish is long and very satisfying.
